What you’ll be doing

  • Taking detailed briefs for new projects – listening to clients and asking the right questions to get to the bottom of their objectives
  • Working closely with the project management team, writing copy for projects from start through to completion, adapting styles and making amends where necessary
  • Attending face-to-face client meetings – to take a brief or simply to catch up
  • Writing copy for anything from web pages, blogs and scripts, to brochures, letters and adverts
  • Proofreading and editing work to help us maintain a high standard of writing
  • Working with junior writers and interns to help them hone their skills on various projects
  • Keeping the in-house team updated on any new projects, your workload etc. to make sure we’re all working together to give clients the best service
  • Some ad-hoc project management when required (you’ll be supported by our full-time Account Management team on this)
  • Identifying and seizing opportunities to up- and cross-sell to existing clients
  • Contributing to marketing campaigns for Stratton Craig and writing regular blog posts
  • Attending quarterly team meetings, contributing news ideas and helping to build Stratton Craig as the number one copywriting team

The small print

  • Minimum of three years’ writing experience
  • Two professional references required
  • Competitive basic salary. Following a probationary period of three months a bonus scheme will be agreed
  • Must be able to work at our Bristol office Monday-Friday and be prepared to travel for meetings as required (these are mainly in London)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK required
  • Must be able to demonstrate examples of different writing styles and adapting to different ToV guidelines
