HR for BP

We recently won a pitch with SAS Design to write the graduate profiles for BP’s recruitment campaign. Having worked on campaigns for big organisations such as BT, KPMG and Savills, we were perfectly placed to deliver on the brief.

We assigned one of our writers, a former national journalist, to interview, transcribe and write the profiles of recent employees across the country, which will be a central part of BP’s national campaign.

It’s a WRAP

Stratton Craig is a tried and tested copywriting resource for the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP), who’ve chosen us to write executive summaries for three recent industry and trade reports.

We allocated the natural writer for the reports, which totalled over 250 pages, and the finished copy presents the research coherently and concisely. With the help of Stratton Craig’s dedicated account management team we also turned the summaries around within five days, including all amends and proofreading.

The best secret clients

You know that the best clients are often the ones you can’t talk about. That’s equally true for us at Stratton Craig. But we can’t help but let slip a bit of news about recent wins for two long-term projects with a pair of truly global companies – a leading worldwide law firm and a top international design agency.

Though the clients are very different, both wins reflect Stratton Craig’s breadth of understanding and experience, and our ability to match the best writer to every project. We can apply all of this to your business too, whatever you do. Call us or visit www.strattoncraig.co.uk to see how we’ve helped other businesses.

Recruiting the best for Reed HR

Stratton Craig has won a project to reposition an important brochure for Reed HR.

Reed is the UK’s leading specialist recruitment and HR services provider. It wanted to rewrite an existing recruitment services brochure in order to reposition it for companies seeking higher-end candidates in salary brackets of £40k+.

This required a new approach, taking into account the greater need for flexibility, convenience and above all quality (of both service and candidates) that this market demands.

Stratton Craig rewrote the existing copy for this premium audience, and initial feedback from the client is very positive.

Gavin Willis Art Direction appointed Stratton Craig to deliver this project following a recommendation from the DBA. Stratton Craig is the DBA’s first-choice copywriting resource, and has worked on projects ranging from the annual DBA book to hosting writing training for its members.

Making connections – WiredMedia

We recently met online agency Wired Media for a chat, and they immediately asked us to help write copy for their new website.

After an interview with the MD, we developed a direct, assured and professional tone of voice that reflected the company’s values and personality, but without losing any of the technical knowledge that is the company’s USP.

MD Tom Beasley was so pleased with our initial work that he asked to include Stratton Craig on the Partners page of the new site, which we feel is a glowing endorsement.

KPMG chooses Stratton Craig to help recruit the best in Brazil

Stratton Craig has worked on many projects with KPMG, and the latest is a recruitment website for the Brazilian firm of the multinational accounting brand.

Despite global economic turbulence, Brazil’s economy is in good shape with excellent prospects for the future, and projects such as transitioning all listed companies to the International Financial Reporting System (IFRS) is keeping KPMG in Brazil busy for the foreseeable future.

Because of this, KPMG in Brazil wants to recruit experienced professionals both from within Brazil and from KPMG member firms worldwide to spend 2 years or longer sharing their experience, and benefiting from the unique culture that Brazil has to offer.

KPMG’s Global People, Performance and Culture Group again chose Stratton Craig to communicate to potential candidates. After interviewing 20 professionals from KPMG in Brazil, our writers have produced a recruitment minisite that conveys the best of Brazil, and the opportunities and culture candidates will find in Brazil.

Stratton Craig has previously created similar sites for KPMG member firms in the Middle East and India, which are now a key part of KPMG’s international recruitment communications.

Recession? No thanks

We’re in a recession. What are you going to do? Keep talking, that’s what.

It would be easy for brand managers to persuade themselves that they need to cut investment in marketing and communications. But a better idea is to make it pay.

Here’s why.

1. Why waste your investment so far? Communications campaigns are months in the making, and can take just as long to get inside the heads of consumers. To abandon it now would undo all that good work.
2. Communications are not a risk factor. They’re the glue between brand and consumer. If ever there was a time to step up your dialogue, this is it.
3. It’s measurable. It’s easy to measure the effectiveness of some communications – especially direct or online – and cut the stuff that doesn’t deliver.

In economic times like these, brands have got to be more clever in their communications, and their spend. Time and resources spent in brand reinforcement now will pay dividends later.

So get thinking. Hard. Copywriters aren’t about just words – first come ideas. And ideas are the lifeblood of marketing.

At Stratton Craig, we can help you devise your communications strategy, and tweak your long-term messaging (and the media you use) to make it more measurable – and to make it pay.

European links

Stratton Craig has been making new inroads to business in Europe recently, with a bit of help from the ever-levelling exchange rate.

We’ve recently won a pitch to write the annual report for a large Russian foods producer. This exciting project for a new client will require one of our lucky writers to spend a week liaising with and interviewing the company in Moscow.

We’re also about to complete our first Trendwatch global newsletter for Accor, one of Europe’s leading hotel chains. Accor has its headquarters in Paris, and we were able to assign one of our Paris-based writers to turn Accor’s market research into concise and engaging newsletter content.

Stratton Craig is also working on the annual report for an industrial giant with headquarters in Germany. The challenge involved transforming a lot of highly technical information into something that every reader could understand, while maintaining a consistent tone of voice and a strong brand language.
